China prosecutes three suspects from northern Myanmar over telecom fraud

FUZHOU, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Procurators from east China's Fujian Province have filed a public prosecution against three ringleaders of a criminal gang in northern Myanmar for suspected crimes of telecom fraud and intentional homicide targeting citizens in China.
The Quanzhou People's Procuratorate recently filed the case with the Intermediate People's Court of Quanzhou against Wai San and other major suspects of the gang, charging them with crimes that also include extortion and organizing others to cross the border illegally.
The prosecution was initiated in accordance with provisions in the Criminal Law and the Criminal Procedure Law of China, according to the procuratorate.
