Top political advisor meets representatives of Buddhist Association of China

BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Huning has called on the country's Buddhist community to contribute to realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, made the remarks when meeting with leading members of the Buddhist Association of China (BAC) on Wednesday.

Wang congratulated the BAC on its 70th anniversary and extended greetings to all Buddhists and Buddhism believers in the country.

Since its founding, the BAC has played an active role in China's socialist modernization drive and contributed wisdom and strength to the prosperity of the country and rejuvenation of the nation, Wang said.

He stressed efforts to further adapt Buddhism to the Chinese context and promote friendly Buddhism exchanges with other countries.
