Chinese, Cuban parties hold 5th theory seminar

BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) held their fifth theory seminar on Tuesday in Beijing, exchanging views on strengthening the overall leadership of the parties to achieve new victories in socialist construction in the two countries.

Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the seminar and delivered a keynote speech at the seminar.

Li said that not long after the conclusion of the 20th CPC National Congress, the leaders of the two parties reached important consensus, pointing out the direction for promoting bilateral relations between the two parties and countries.

The CPC has viewed upholding and strengthening the overall leadership of the Party as a major principle since the 18th CPC National Congress, resolutely upheld the authority and centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, maintained a high degree of unity in the thinking and will of the whole Party, improved the Party's leadership system, promoted comprehensive and strict Party governance, and scored historic achievements and changes in the cause of the Party and the state, Li added.

Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and secretary of organization of the PCC Central Committee, spoke highly of the brilliant achievements China made under the leadership of the CPC, and expressed the PCC's willingness to strengthen exchanges of governance experience with the Chinese side and advance bilateral relations between the two parties and countries.
