Senior CPC official meets British diplomat

BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met in Beijing on Tuesday with Philip Barton, permanent under-secretary of Britain's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

They exchanged views on strengthening party-to-party exchanges, promoting the sound and steady development of bilateral relations, and international and regional issues of common concern.
