The International Day for Protection of Children is observed in many countries as Children's Day on June 1, since 1950. It was established by the Women's International Democratic Federation on its congress in Moscow on November 4, 1949. More than 50 countries celebrate Children's Day on June 1, including China, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Poland, Portugal, Russia and Vietnam.
