The State Immigration Administration has implemented a new measure at all the national land, sea, and air ports since June 18, 2018. It said that “Chinese citizens' entry-exit clearance and queuing time should be no more than 30 minutes”. This was believed to effectively solve the “incidents” of Chinese citizens queueing up at the entry and exit ports at peak hours. During this Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the Changsha Immigration Inspection Station checked nearly 21,000 passenger and more than 120 plane arrivals, an increase of approximately 30% year-on-year. It achieved the goal of having the clearance done for each Chinese citizen within 30 minutes.

The Changsha Immigration Inspection Station has set up special channels for Chinese citizens in advance, divided separate inspection regions for Chinese and foreign travelers, and improved facilities such as clearance sites, broadcasting equipment, and guide signs. This brought great convenience to the entry and exit of Chinese citizens. Meanwhile, the station vigorously promoted self-service clearance, and guided qualified passengers to have clearance done by themselves. Currently, the self-service rate of entry clearance at various ports has exceeded 50%.

The station also made passenger flow forecasting and early warning to meet passenger flow peak. It arranged special staff to collect airline ticket booking data and travel agency group tours every day, to forecast and deal with travel rush beforehand.
