
Johannesburg September 19 (People's Daily Online) - 3 buildings were evacuated this morning at the Alice Lane Towers in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. It was reported that there was allegedly a bomb inside one of the buildings where ABSA's offices are situated.
Among the companies evacuated, Bank of China Johannesburg Branch based in one of the buildings was also asked to leave as a precautionary measure. The police's Sandton station as well as the K9 unit arrived later to do a full sweep of all 3 buildings.
The police have confirmed that there are no traces of a bomb anywhere in the buildings. Shortly after the announcement people streamed in from Sandton City where they took refuge from the bomb threat, to eventually return back to work.
