Upon deliberation, the recent 28th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th Yunnan Provincial People's Congress adopted the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress on Fixing the Time from Which the People's Congresses of Eight Prefectures and Cities including Chuxiong and Their Standing Committees will Enact Local Regulations. The decision determines that the people's congresses of eight prefectures (cities) including Pu'er and their standing committees should enact local regulations from August 1, 2016. Pu'er was approved to exercise local legislative power.
