Chinese navy fleet joins RIMPAC 2016 open day

Chinese People's Liberation Army Naval sailors aboard the Hengshui hoist the Chinese Flag after arriving at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam to participate in the multinational military exercise RIMPAC in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 29. Nine naval ships from seven countries, including China, US, Australia and India, have been showcased at the open day event. It is the second time that the Chinese Navy has taken part in RIMPAC. The fleet, PLAN TG - XI'AN, is composed of missile destroyer Xi'an, missile frigate Hengshui, supply ship Gaoyouhu, hospital ship Peace Ark, submarine rescue vessel Changdao and three helicopters, as well as a marine and a diving squad.
