SYDNEY, June. 17 (People’s Daily Online) -- Vivid Sydney Festival 2016 will end on June 18. This year, Vivid Sydney runs for 23 nights between May 17 and June 18, attracting more than one million visitors and citizens to enjoy the festival.

Vivid Sydney was held firstly in 2009 and has been successfully held for eight years. It has become one of the world’s leading festivals of light, music and ideas. In Vivid Sydney 2016, more than 150 artists from 23 countries create lighting fixtures and projection for the Vivid Sydney and over 90 kinds of light installations, lighting up famous landmarks in Sydney such as Sydney Opera House, Harbor Bridge, Martin Place and so on.

The appearance of Sydney Opera House is always the iconic image of the festival. This year's productions mainly embody the Australian aboriginal culture and the significant relationship between the aboriginal literature and the natural world. Furthermore, music performing arts and creative communication speeches and forums are held along with the event.
