By Stacy Liberatore (Mail Online)    14:40, June 15, 2016

Nasa is looking for brave, talented and adventurous individuals to help transform the red planet into a functioning society.

The US space agency has released a stunning new series of retro posters showing a range of positions that will need to be filled when humans eventually stake their claim on Mars.

Called ‘Mars Explorers Wanted’, the eight posters were designed to give people an idea about what’s next in the future of space exploration and if they could play a role in the journey.

The US space agency has released a stunning new series of retro travel posters showing a range of positions needed to be filled when humans stake their claim on Mars. Called ‘ Mars Explorers Wanted ’, the eight posters were designed to give people the idea for what’s next in the future of space exploration

The posters were originally created for an exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex in 2009, but Nasa has released the full set to the public – free of charge.

Consumers simply download the full-size posters, which are available in 30 x 48, and send them to the printer.

There are eight posters in the complete set that range from hiking across the solar system’s largest cannons to assembling steel habitats to growing fresh produce for the community to eat.

‘Hike the solar system's largest canyon, Valles Marineris on Mars, where you can catch blue sunsets in the twilight, and see the two moons of Mars (Phobos and Deimos) in the night sky,’ reads one poster’s caption.

‘Are you someone who can put things together, solving challenges to ensure survival? Dare to forge our future with space-age tools - build spaceships to carry us to Mars and back, and habitats to protect us while we're there,’ explains another.

Nasa has put some thought into designing these posters and choosing occupations that will be vital for humanity to survive on Mars.

The agency is looking for technicians ‘to engineer our future on Mars’.

‘Hike the solar system's largest canyon, Valles Marineris on Mars, where you can catch blue sunsets in the twilight, and see the two moons of Mars (Phobos and Deimos) in the night sky,’ reads the caption for 'Explorers wanted on the journey to Mars'

‘People with special talents will always be in demand for our Journey To Mars,’ reads the poster’s caption.

‘Whether repairing an antenna in the extreme environment of Mars, or setting up an outpost on the moon Phobos, having the skills and desire to dare mighty things is all you need.’

Surveyors, teachers and those willing to work the night shift on Mar’s moon are also in high-demand.

‘Night owls welcome! If you lived on Mars' moon Phobos, you'd have an office with a view, mining for resources with Mars in the night sky,’ reads the poster that recruits night workers, which shows the worker standing on Phobos with Mars to their back.
