
The 37th Odyssey of the Mind Tournament (OM) finals kicked off at Iowa State University on May 28, 2016. Representatives of China won 5 championships, 3 second places and 2 third places.
This year’s competition attracted nearly 800 representative groups to showcase their ideas on how to solve a variety of problems. 44 teams attended this year’s OM on behalf of China, four of them were schools from the City of Ningbo. Among them, the Lihuili Primary School and the Longsai middle school won the two championships.
The Odyssey of the Mind Tournament started in 1974 in the United States and was introduced to China in 1987. The competition involves students ranging from kindergarten through college. Team members work together at lengths to solve long-term problems and to engage in spontaneous problem solving sections.
