A 28-year-old woman travelling alone without much money in 14 countries in one year? Sounds like a fantasy, but it is a true story for Chen Mengting from China.
According to news portal news.zj.com, life has settled into a routine for Chen up until recently - she always listened to her parents, went to school and held a regular job. After nearly four years of monotonous work as a doctor in Hanghzou of east China's Zhejiang province, Chen was determined to pursue a different kind of life.
By working as a cleaning maid, she got to eat and stay with different families in the world while travelling.
But it has also been a risky adventure for Chen. She flew to the Philippines without a plan, was forced by a Lebanonese soldier with a gun to marry him, and was nearly killed in a traffic accident in India.
The traffic accident also led to partial loss in her ability to smell and taste. It also made her want to return to her family.
