Fred Gould, chairman of the study committee on genetically engineered (GE) crops, speaks at a news conference in Washington, the United States, on May 17, 2016. Genetically engineered (GE) crops are safe to eat, and do not harm the environment, according to a major report released Tuesday by an influential U.S. panel of experts.
