(Xinhua)    19:22, February 18, 2016

MONROVIA, Feb. 18 -- The Liberian government has lauded bilateral ties with China towards its development.

Liberian Foreign Minister Marjon Kamara, who made this known in Monrovia Wednesday, expressed gratitude to China for the scholarships it has provided to enhance the capacity building of their citizens.

She also thanked the Chinese government for the recent donation of military equipment and supplies for use by the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL).

Kamara made the statement when the Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Zhang Yue, paid her a courtesy call.

She assured the Chinese ambassador that Liberia is appreciative of Chinese government's support.

The minister expressed confidence that the traditional and bilateral friendship between the two countries will be further strengthened to enhance the mutual benefits of their peoples.

Kamara urged collaboration between Liberian and Chinese businesses through partnership at the people to people level as well as the managerial level.

The Chinese ambassador assured that China is and will always be Liberia's reliable partner.

He said China shares the same views with Liberia, especially on the Sustainable Development Agenda.

Zhang indicated that China is fully aware of Liberia's development needs, especially in infrastructure, and urged the country to tap into the World Bank funded projects to meet some critical post-war development challenges.

He also disclosed that Chinese investors are in high gear to come and invest in Liberia.
