Tianjin Customs cracked several smuggling cases on suspicion of falsifying customs declaration on Starbucks bottled coffee drinks made in the U.S., during a special campaign before Spring Festival, which fell on Feb. 8 this year.
Five cases have been filed as criminal cases and the total value of the drinks involved in the cases were 25 million yuan.
The first batch of 1,680 boxes (24 bottles per box) of seized Starbucks bottled coffee drinks have been sold by auction at the price of 190,000 yuan.
