Abdominal dewlap prevent fractures
The Garvan medical research institution in Sydney carried out research on 1,126 participants aged over 50 and discovered 25 percent of the woman with a large girth had a 50 percent smaller risk of having a fracture; for each kilogram a woman loses on her abdominal area, the risk of fracture increases by 50 percent. It also explains the phenomenon of the dropping of fracture rate as levels of obesity increase.

People with short legs tend to have less fractures
The University of Chicago and New York International Longevity Center discovered that the bone diameters and density of people with shorter, thicker legs are bigger, so they tend to have thicker bones when they become elderly, reducing their risk of fracture.
