The dike of a barrier lake in central China's Hubei Province collapsed on Thursday, with water flooding a nearby village, local authorities said.
The lake, located in Longfeng Township of Enshi City, contains hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of water.
The collapse happened at around 11 a.m. with the surging water inundating cars in the village downstream, according to a township official.
