Toronto-bound flight from Shanghai landed 2,200 miles early in Calgary

21 passengers were hospitalized, 8 with injuries, 13 sent for observation

More than 20 passengers were hospitalized after enduring 45 minutes of turbulence on an Air Canada flight from China on Wednesday.

The Toronto-bound plane from Shanghai was forced to land four hours and 2,200 miles early in Calgary, Alberta.

Twenty-one passengers were transferred to hospitals from the airport.

Three children were among the patients, according to CBC News.

Air Canada flight 88 from Shanghai to Toronto was carrying 332 passengers and 19 crew. It was forced to land
