Two million bees escaped onto the Lincang section of a national highway in southwestern China's Yunnan province, after their carrier overturned when taking a sudden turn. The bees were freed from around 200 boxes thrown open and scattered on the road then. The owner's three dogs were dead from stings.
The accident caused traffic chaos. Motorbike riders and pedestrians were trapped on the road. Firefighters, therefore, had to spray water mist on the bees to calm them down or kill them so as to rescue the trapped.
