President Xi Jinping's busy schedule also included his meeting with prime minister of New Zealand John Key on Wednesday in Manila, the Philippines.
Xi said China and New Zealand should expand cooperation, enhance mutual trust, and further promote long-term healthy and stable strategic partnership. He also called for cooperation in food security, clean energy, information and technology, biotechnology and infrastructure.
President Xi added that China is willing to jointly contribute to regional and global peace, stability and prosperity. He also emphasized that the two countries should deepen collaboration in the South Pole. Key agreed with President Xi in boosting high-level exchanges and cooperation. He welcomed investment from Chinese enterprises, and is looking forward to further coordinate in global issues include climate change.
Key also said that New Zealand’s decision to become a founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is made very early, which will bring more benefits to New Zealand people. Key also calls for more cooperation in education between the two countries.
