Now that winter's here, the reluctance to get out of bed in the morning has mounted exponentially among people. Let's face it! It's much easier to snuggle deep into the covers when the alarm goes off, and we constantly oversleeping when they know that they should get up.
In an attempt to make winter wake-ups easier, a 25-year-old woman has engineered a particularly alarm clock that repeatedly strikes head with a rubber hand.
Called "The Wake Up Machine", it is made using a traditional alarm clock mounted to the wall with the motorized arm.
Swedish inventor and electronics enthusiast Simone Giertz who has gained fame for her Breakfast Machine, is now back with her latest invention - The Wake Up Machine. She also sets up her own channel on the Internet, sharing her funny inventions.
In a YouTube video posted on her channel, Giertz explained how to make the machine, then demonstrates how it works. The Machine comprises an alarm clock and motorized rubber arm wired to an Arduino Uno microcontroller housed in a wall-mounted biscuit tin.
For the arm, Simone used a rubber Halloween prop, a bloody, torn off arm and hand. To make it slightly less disturbing to the eyes, she used nail polish remover to remove the blood and removed the exposed bone and other torn icky bits.
Positioned above the bed, the arm whips around to repeatedly slap the sleeper in the face when their alarm goes off. Netizens comment that the invention is fun and entertaining.
