Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Luiz Nazario De Lima believes China has the potential to become a major exporting country for football talents. He hopes the football schools he will build in China can make a contribution to China’s bid to win the World Cup.
On Nov. 15, 2015, Ronaldo and his football team came to Mianyang, southwestern China’s Sichuan Province, where he had exchanges with Chinese young football players. Ronaldo’s close friend, famous Brazilian educator Carlos Wizard also accompanied him during this trip to China.
Wizard said that the team planned to first build 30 schools in China’s big cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. “In Brazil, football can bring children happiness. We hope we are able to bring this happiness here to China,” said Wizard.
At the meeting site, Ronaldo closely interacted with the children, and coached them patiently. He said that football was his life, and he was more than happy to share everything he learned from football with others.
Mianyang was Ronaldo’s first stop in China. Later he will also visit Beijing and Shanghai. In January this year, Ronaldo’s first football school was built in St. Paulo, Brazil. He and his team plans to build about 100 schools around the world, Brazil, China, and United States are the three picked countries.
