Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Antalya, Turkey, on November 14, 2015, ahead of the G20 Summit.
President Xi congratulated Turkey, which is to hold the G20 Summit in Mediterranean coastal city Antalya in southwest Turkey from November 15 to 16.
During the meeting, President Xi emphasized that China and Turkey shall improve strategic communication, and that both sides shall provide policy support to each other within the framework of "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
Both China and Turkey shall take advantage of the Silk Road Infrastructure Fund and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to create new form of cooperation, President Xi added.
Turkish president welcomed President Xi’s arrival, saying that the close and constant dialogues between the leaders of the two countries will facilitate mutual understanding.
Turkey values its friendship with China, and is willing to cooperate with China within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, Erdoğan said, adding that Turkey welcomes infrastructure investment from Chinese companies.
During the meeting, both presidents severely condemned the terrorist attacks in Paris, and agreed that international cooperation is mandatory in fighting terrorism.
After the meeting, the two presidents witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding, which is to promote the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, and the inking of several cooperative deals to cover fields including infrastructure, entry-exit inspection and quarantine.
