According to the written confession of Kazue Kanazawa on 18 August 1954, he was from Hokkaido, Japan. He joined the Japanese War of Aggression against China in 1943 and was captured in August 1945.

Major offences:

In October 1944: In Xingyang County, Henan Province, interrogated three anti-Japanese Chinese people; ordered two subordinates to “burn the noses of the two Chinese men with candle flame, bare the woman’s bottom and press a bundle of burning incense sticks on her body; then tied the thighs of each of the three persons to a bench, and placed bricks under their heels and raised their lower legs upward, torturing them in these ways for about two hours during interrogation”; two days later, “was ordered to stab to death the three Chinese”, “taught the recruits how to stab and corrected their mistakes”. To ensure their death, a sergeant ordered one subordinate to “shoot with rifle at the head from behind after bayoneting each person; as a result, the victims’ foreheads burst open with their brains spilling out; and their dead bodies were kicked into a pit”; during the bayoneting.

From October to November 1944: In Xingyang County, “in a rape station set up by the Japanese imperialists, raped one Chinese woman aged 17 or 18 once”; and in another rape station in a township, “raped one Chinese woman aged around 20 once”.

In November 1944: In Xingyang County, “to satisfy the animal desires of soldiers of the Japanese invading army”, the platoon commander gave the instruction “to set up a rape station; I ordered two soldiers to occupy one empty house near the platoon garrison and use it as the rape station”; later, gave the instruction to “bring two Chinese women here from Zhengzhou City by force ... detained and monitored them for one night, and ordered 14 or 15 soldiers of the platoon to gang-rape them”.

In June 1945: In Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, “in a rape station, raped one Korean woman aged around 22 twice”.
