According to the written confession of Gisaburo Ikeda on 30 July 1954, he was born in Tokyo Prefecture, Japan in 1913. He joined the Japanese War of Aggression against China in 1933 and was captured in August 1945.

Just kill him.” So Gisaburu Ikeda ordered the subordinates to “bayonet through the man’s belly and leave his dead body on the site”.

In May 1938: In Changyuan County seat, Hebei Province, “collectively carried out the massacre of 100 Chinese people, including civilians and soldiers of the anti-Japanese army”; In a house of the Chinese people in Changyuan County seat, “the housewife came back from the place where she took refuge”, and “I ... raped her by force” on that night.

In May 1938: In a village in Henan Province, “I broke into a Chinese people’s house, and under the pretext that the family hid six grenades and four rifle cartridge belts, I pushed the house-owner (a man aged 50) out of the house, hit him with fist on the face ... bayoneted through his chest, shot him on the head with rifle, and left his dead body on the site”.

On 19 June 1938: In Zhongmou County, Henan Province, the troops “drove 1,000 Chinese residents out of the county town, pushed them into the Yellow River and killed them collectively”. “I broke into a house, drove a mother and her newborn baby into the Yellow River and killed them.”
