According to the written confession of Ikuma Yamamura on 11 August 1954, he was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan in 1919. He joined the Japanese War of Aggression against China in 1940 and was captured in September 1945.

In June 1940: In Jingmen County, Hubei Province, took part in the killing of four Chinese peasants.

In August 1942: In Yingshan County, Hubei Province, “raped a Chinese woman aged around 18”.

In February 1943: In Yichang County, Hubei Province, stood on guard for the anatomy experiment; Private First Class Shintani “injected mercury” into the body of a Chinese peasant (a man aged around 35), and “killed him; then, Military Doctor Yamakawa cut off the man’s cecum with a sharp knife, took the gut out and cut it into pieces, then took out the internal organs one by one while making explanations”.

In April 1943: In Yidu County, Hubei Province, the squadron commander “received a peasant-like Chinese captive (a man aged around 35) from the regiment headquarters”; “in order to give recruits bayoneting lessons, tied the man to a tree in the squadron courtyard; the squadron commander first ordered Naoichi Oda to bayonet, and then had the recruits bayonet him in turns and kill him”.

In May 1943: In Yichang County, broke into a house, told the man in the house “to go and get wine, and I took the opportunity to drag his wife (aged around 20) into the room and raped her”; cheated a Chinese woman aged around 23 and led her to the so-called material exchange storehouse, where “I raped her”; “forcedly dragged” a Chinese woman aged around 22 “to a pigpen and raped her there”; cheated a Chinese woman aged around 22 and led her to the workers’ dorm of the Supply and Marketing Division, “let Kiyoshi Miyagawa, the assistant of the Supply and Marketing Division, rape her and I raped her too”.

In July 1943: In Yidu County, Lieutenant Tateyama, Commander of the First Squadron of Regiment 233, used four Chinese civilian captives to give recruits slashing lessons; “Probation Officer Hanaoka, Sergeant Hatabe, Sergeant Tatsuo Akimoto and Cadet Yasumoto each killed one with katana”.

In August 1943: In Yidu County, “raped” a Chinese woman aged around 30; in addition, ordered Private First Class Kawamura to blindfold a man aged 34 or 35 and “shoot him dead with rifle from 50 meters away”.

In December 1943: In Yidu County, “threatened with rifle and raped” a Chinese woman aged around 50; in a place near Xinjiangkou, Yidu County, “saw a Chinese woman aged around 30, then threatened her with bayonet and raped her”; “saw a Chinese woman aged around 20, then let Yoshio Yamamoto rape her and I raped her too”; saw a woman aged around 30, “I ordered Isaichi Ueda, a member of the platoon, to threaten her with bayonet and take off her pants, let him insert a sweet potato of 5 centimeters thick and 15 centimeters long into her vulva and then pull it out, repeating four times; after insulting her in this brutal way, we went away with the sweet potato still left in her vulva”.

In July 1944: Across the Xiangjiang River from Hengyang County seat, Hunan Province, “I ordered Sadaharu Yasumura and Okamoto to capture Chinese people for the purpose of carrying plundered pigs, then they chased fleeing Chinese women, threatened them with handgun and raped them”.

In August 1944: In Leiyang County, Hunan Province, “saw four Chinese women taking refuge in a tea grove, ran forward to rape them; when I chased a woman aged around 17 towards the valley, she fell from a 30-meter-high cliff and died; three other women were fleeing too; I caught a woman aged around 23, threatened her with handgun and raped her”; at the south end of Leiyang County seat, “threatened with handgun and raped” a Chinese woman aged around 23; found another Chinese woman aged around 25, “then threatened with handgun, pulled her out and raped her”; intruded into a village for the purpose of raping, “chased into a 20-meter-wide river and drowned” two Chinese women aged 25 and 30.

In late August 1944: While plundering grain and fodder in Hengyang County, Hunan Province, “met the resistance of 30 Chinese peasants”, then “shot dead four peasants with rifle”; in Hengyang County, “I found four peaceful Chinese women running into a house”, “then broke into the house, caught a woman aged around 18, drove the other three outside with handgun, and raped the woman”; on another day, dressed in Chinese clothes, chased a Chinese woman aged around 27 who was taking refuge with a boy aged 8 or 9, “threatened her with handgun” and “raped her”; also dressed in Chinese clothes and broke into a house, “threatened with handgun and raped” a girl aged around 13; “threatened with handgun and raped” a woman aged around 20; in addition, “saw a Chinese woman aged around 23 working in the field, then threatened her with handgun, led her to a house, let Shoichi Yamada rape her, and I raped her too”.

In December 1944: In a village between Guilin County and Liuzhou in Guangxi Province, found a Chinese man aged around 40, “I fired one shot at him from 50 meters away and killed him”; in Liuzhou City, broke into a house and “found a Chinese woman aged around 40, threatened her with handgun and raped her”; broke into another house and “raped a woman aged around 25”; dressed in Chinese clothes, broke into a house to plunder materials, “threatened with handgun” and raped a Chinese woman aged around 25 and holding a 3-year-old kid, and “then let Otaki rape her”.

On 13 April 1945: In Gucheng County, Hubei Province, “when I saw a Chinese woman aged around 20 standing in front of a residence, I threatened her with bayonet, dragged her into the room and raped her”.

From July 1942 to April 1945: In Yingshan County, Yichang County, Yidu County, Dangyang County, Hankou City and Jingmen County of Hubei Province and in Xiangtan County and Changsha City of Hunan Province, “raped 27 women for 43 times in so-called ‘comfort stations’”.
