Japan invaded northeast China in September 1931 and conducted the full-scale invasion on July 7, 1937, when a bridge that acted as a crucial access point to Beijing was attacked by the Japanese. Since then Chinese people began 8-year War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. In July 1945, the three countries issued the Potsdam Proclamation, another key legal document to demand Japan's unconditional surrender to the Allies, which accelerated the end of WWII.(File photo/81.cn)
