On July 12, 2015, 1200 swimming-lovers swam across Han River, in memory of 49th anniversary of Mao Zedong's historic swim in Yangtze River. They held banners which said "Swimmer, Swimmer, Swim Happily" and a flag of Mao's image as they swam. Their chanting of the slogan "Promote physical culture and build up the people's health" could be heard all across both banks.
