Volunteers recently visited a 7-year-old child who was found living with pigs for years in a poor village in Qingfeng county in northern China's Henan province, calling for attention and help from the society.
According to local newspaper Puyang Morning Post, the volunteers came to visit the child after neighbors told them the child had been neglected and abused for years by his parents and was still unable to talk.
The volunteers are members from a local organization named Puyang Loving Society. They are good Samaritans who reach out to poor and needy people in the area.
According to their neighbors, Hongbo's mother had mental disorder and his father made a living by raising pigs and riding rickshaw. The poor child was often seen beaten by his mother and was left playing with pigs all the time in their courtyard.
Hongbo's parents had given birth to five children, though only two survived. Hongbo's aunt took his brother away by soon after birth and Hongbo was the only child living with parents. But unfortunately, it appears they failed to teach him how to talk.
