Selfie sticks are to be banned at Shanghai Disneyland Resort which is set to open in 2016, according to a report from the Shanghai Morning Post.
According to a Disney spokesperson, the move is out of concern for visitors' safety.
Although there hasn't been a blanket ban on selfie sticks, some other theme parks in Shanghai have already banned selfies on some attractions such as rollercoasters.
At the aquarium in the city, there have been cases of visitors dropping their mobile phones into water while attempting to take a selfie. Some visitors have even been injured by the swinging sticks.
Disney says tourists will be required to put their selfie sticks in lockers before entering the park.
A blanket ban on the sticks was implemented at Disney resorts in Hong Kong and Paris in July.
