Director Feng Xiaogang suggests that the revival of some traditional Chinese characters in students' textbooks will better promote Chinese cultures.
But political advisor Yu Junjian says similar proposals have been submitted in the past.
The Ministry of Education responds that the simplification of Chinese characters has been well established in relevant laws and it is very difficult to make such amending.
