Christ the Redeemer is a famous statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot. The height of the statue reaches 30 meters and its arms stretch 28 meters wide. Under the statue, there is a small chapel dedicated to Our Lady Aparecida, the patron saint of Brazil.
