On Sept. 11, 2014, the team reporting the "New Silk Road" from People's Daily Online arrived at the biggest and oldest market in Egypt — Khan el-Khalili, where various kinds of accessories, fridge magnets and decorations are on sale. It seemed that Chinese tourists are very welcomed at the market.
In a souvenirs store, a figurine attracted our attention. We bought it with 70 Egyptian pounds (around $9.8). This figurine is Nefertari, the favorite Queen of Ramses II. Of Ramses II's 12 wives, she is the first and the most loved one. When she died during childbirth, Ramses II was devastated and built a temple for her. In Egypt, temples were built only for Pharaohs. Nefertari was the first and the only Queen that had her own temple.
