THE HAGUE, Sept. 19 -- This week another fourteen victims of the MH17 flight disaster in eastern Ukraine have been identified, bringing the total amount of identified people to 225, the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice declared on Friday.
Of the fourteen new identifications seven persons had the Dutch nationality. At the request of the embassies of the countries concerned, the specific nationality of the non-Dutch victims was not made known.
A team of specialists in the army barracks in the city of Hilversum were tasked with identifying the victims of the crash. It may take several more months before every victim will be identified, if that will happen.
In the crash on July 17 a total of 298 people died, of whom 196 had the Dutch nationality.
