Int'l Exposition on Fruit, Vegetables Ends in East China
An international exposition on the processing of fruit and vegetables closed Sunday in Xiamen, a major coastal city in east China's Fujian Province.
Some 153 contracts involving a total investment of 680 million U.S. dollars were signed during the four-day event, which aimed to accelerate the transfer of vegetable and fruit processing technologies and expand trade in the fruit and vegetable industry.
More than 50,000 business people from more than 36 countries such as the United States, France and Japan attended the fair and displayed thousands of fruit and vegetable processing technological developments and products at over 1,000 booths.
The expo was hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Committee for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), several ministries of China, the Fujian provincial government as well as the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
