China Photo Show Opens in Ethiopia
A five-day China photo show entitled "Photo Album of the People's Republic of China (2000-2001) " began in Addis Ababa on Monday to mark the 52nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
On display, some 100 photos are illustrating major events which took place between the Autumn of 2000 and the Summer of 2001 in China, including the successful bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games, the forthcoming entrance into the World Trade Organization and the rapid development of urban and rural construction.
Ethiopian Minister of Information and Culture Woldemichael Chamo said on the occasion that arts and culture have played an important role towards the strengthening of the friendly relationship and mutual understanding between Ethiopia and China.
He also expressed his willingness to host a photo show on the development of Ethiopia in Beijing, the capital of China.
China's photo show is scheduled to be closed on Friday.
