US Boeing Warns Airlines of Brake Problem With 737 Aircraft

Boeing has sent a letter to airlines operating its 737-800 planes, warning them that there may be a problem with the speed brakes on the wings, Boeing Company said Wednesday.

"We've warned airlines that the speed brakes on 737-800 wings, and only on that model, should not be used above a certain speed," said Boeing spokeswoman Lory Gunter.

Gunter said the message was sent after the planes experienced vibrations at high speeds. Boeing has delivered 456 of the 737- 800 model since it was launched.

Meanwhile, The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has also been notified of the problem.
