China to Host E-Commerce Summit

The four-day 5th China International Electronic Commerce Summit will be held in Beijing from April 5 to 8.

More than 100 government officials and entrepreneurs from multinational companies will speak at the meeting, which is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Information Industry, the State Development Planning Commission, the State Economic and Trade Commission and the China council for the Promotion of International Trade.

Exhibitions, seminars, and CEO forums will be held during the summit, during which experts and entrepreneurs will discuss the development of e-commerce, and the application of related trends in finance, trade, and transportation.

China has made great achievements in the past years in the development of e-commerce, said an official from the China E-Commerce Association. However, the country still needs to improve its infrastructure and establish regulations and laws in this respect to ensure the healthy development of the sector.
