China and Japan Friday signed documents on Japanese yen loans to China in 2000.
The loans, totaling 197.197 billion yen, are for 23 projects around China, involving air pollution control, water supply and sewage treatment in cities, energy, water conservation, tree planting, water-saving irrigation, small scale hydropower stations in rural areas, light rail trains in cities, and broadcasting.
By the end of March, the Japanese government had provided a total of 2.6677 trillion yen worth of loans to China to fund 171 construction projects.
