DPRK Refutes US Allegations of Drug Trafficking

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) rebuked the US on Monday for accusing Pyongyang of being involved in drug trafficking.

A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry told the press that an annual report on drug control released by the US Department of State accused the DPRK of drug trafficking, claiming the DPRK " may have produced drugs and smuggled them into other countries."

He said the alleged claim is unfounded and slanderous, a practice demonstrating how ridiculous U.S. policy is towards the DPRK.

He added that the socialistic system of the DPRK guarantees healthy life-styles for its people. In addition, the country's laws also strictly ban the production, the use, and the trading of such drugs.
