Ajit Singh Elected Asia Forum Secretary General

Ajit Singh, a native of Malaysia, was elected secretary general of Boao Asia Forum at a preparatory meeting Monday.

Singh used to be secretary general of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Being an outstanding diplomat, Singh used to be Malaysia's ambassador to Austria, Brazil, Germany and Viet Nam, respectively.

Upon retirement, he was invited by the state petroleum company of Malaysia (Petronas) to be a senior manager.

Since he was elected as the provisional secretary general of Asia Forum at the Asian experts' conference held last November in preparation for Asian Forum, Singh has done a lot of work for the inauguration of Asia Forum, which is scheduled to be held Tuesday morning.
