Bus Route Links Chinese, Russian Cities

A bus route was opened Tuesday between Jiamusi, a port city in Heilongjiang Province in northeast China, and Birobidzhan, a city in Russia's far east.

It is the second bus route between China and Russia. The first of its kind was opened last November, linking Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang, and Ussuriysk of Russia.

The new route is aimed at serving an increasing number of people who want to cross the boundary for business or travel.

China and Russia share a 4,000-kilometer-long border, and border trade has been booming over the past few years.
