3G Communications Discussed
To better promote the technology development of TD-SCDMA (time division-synchronous code division multi access) in the home market, a forum is scheduled to be held on December 12 in Beijing by the country's leading telecom companies and their foreign counterparts.
TD-SCDMA is one of the three standards for the 3G (third generation) communications that has been approved by the International Telecommunications Union. The forum is to be promoted by China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Datang, Huawei and their foreign partners Motorola, Nortel, Siemens. About 200 telecom companies are to take part.
