Delphi to Enter China's Automotive After-sales Market

Delphi Automotive Systems, one of the world's largest automotive spare parts suppliers, will step into China's after-sale service market for automobiles.

A Delphi official said in Shanghai Thursday, December 7, that his company will provide a full line of products, including power generators, air conditioning systems and storage batteries.

Delphi has 15 enterprises in China including joint-ventures and solely-funded ventures, which are mainly engaged in supplying products to the country's major automobile producers. However, until now Delphi has yet to enter the after-sales market.

The official said that China is one of fastest growing automotive markets in the world, and that he is confident that his company will take a share of the after-sales market.

Sector-insiders said that Delphi's move will put great pressure on Chinese enterprises in the sector and will have a substantial impact on the country's automotive manufacturing and after-sales market.
