Hang Seng Bank to Expand Online Services

Hang Seng Bank said Thursday that it is to expand its investment and insurance services by offering online investment funds subscriptions and general insurance enrollments via its website beginning December 10.

Vincent Cheng, vice chairman and chief executive of the bank, said, "Hang Seng e-Banking services have been very well received by our customers since their launch in August this year."

Close to 90,000 customers have registered for Hang Seng e-Banking services at www.hangseng.com/e-Banking, with more than one-third of them holding online securities accounts, said Cheng.

Internet transactions now take up over 6 percent of the bank's total transactions and online securities trading accounts for more than one-third of the bank's total securities transactions.
