Northeast China to Host Ice-Snow Festival
An ice-snow tourist festival is scheduled to open on the first day of the new century in this capital city of northeast China's Jilin Province.
The 49-day festival will be held in the local state forest park of Jingyuetan, which is 16 km away from Changchun City and has 50,000-square-meter skiing yard.
Major activities during the festival include a group wedding ceremony attended by 99 new couples, a folk art performance, a food festival, a fashion show, ice and snow sports programs and photo and snow sculpture exhibitions.
Changchun, located in the central area of northeast China, has about three months of snow-season annually. There has been many snow-related activities and sports contests in the past years.
