Chinese PLA Leader Meets Czech Guests

Xiong Guangkai, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met Sunday with Frantisek Hrabal, commander of the ground force of Czech armed forces, and his party.

Xiong said that Chinese and Czech people and their militaries have enjoyed long-term friendly relations. The Chinese government is willing to develop the existing Sino-Czech relations on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, Xiong added.

He also briefed the guests on China's reform and opening-up drive and PLA building. He reaffirmed Chinese government's stance on the Taiwan issue.

Hrabal said that through the tour, he will learn more about China and the PLA, and promote the military relations between the two countries.
