New Regulations on Telecom Service

China will soon issue five rules and regulations to improve its telecom service, according to sources from the Ministry of Information Industry.

The Regulation on Reporting of Telecom Service Quality requires all telecom enterprises to present regular service quality reports to concerned government departments.

The Rule on Publicity of Telecom Service Quality will publicize the service quality of all telecom companies and comments from their users periodically, in an effort to strengthen public supervision.

The three other rules and regulations are made to solve an increasing number of disputes in telecom service, sources said.

The new regulations will help Chinese firms get a bigger piece of the domestic telecom market pie after China becomes a member of the World Trade Organization, officials noted.
