Guangdong Promotes Sci-Tech Cooperation With HK, Macao & Taiwan
Ma Xianmin, deputy head of Guangdong Sci-Tech Bureau, and other officials indicated in Guangzhou on September 5 that Guangdong's technological cooperation with HK, Macao & Taiwan has advanced from the traditional field to the new economic field. However, there are different emphases in the specific areas and contents in regard to the cooperation between the three regions.
An official with the Guangdong Sci-Tech Department analyzed that because Taiwan has rich experience in risk investment, Guangdong will conduct exchanges with Taiwan in this field, including evaluation and analysis of sci-tech items. Meanwhile, it will strengthen cooperation with Taiwan in promoting productivity, and carry out personnel training.
The sci-tech cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong is manifested in many aspects. Presently, the sci-tech cooperation between the two regions mainly focuses on active non-governmental cooperation. Now they are actively establishing a network between the medium and small Hong Kong-funded enterprises in the Pearl River Delta by which means to promote sci-tech cooperation between enterprises through virtual service. Besides, there is great space for cooperation between the two regions in the aspects of information technology, intellectual property protection, patent protection and talent exchanges.
As regards the sci-tech cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, Guangdong Province thinks that Macao should give greater play to its role as a bridge, so as to help Guangdong establish a better relationship with Europe.
